Introduction to Earlysville
Monday
A bit of rain brings relief to all...
Our dogs and we love our early morning walks along Bleak House Road in Earlysville, located just outseide of the urban area of Charlottesville. Between 5:30 - 6:30 a.m., the heat is not so great, but the humidity has remained high during this unreasonably hot summer. Enter storms, two days in a row.... Aahhh, what a relief. 70-degree-temps and limited humidty, along with this view... Well, it's easy to revel in the beauty of the Earlysville area and offer up a great big thank you for allowing us the opportunity to have found this glorious spot all those years ago.

Fun things to do,
Life in Earlysville
Saturday
The Earlysville Animal Hospital, another reason to love Earlysville
We are dog people. We also have and love kitties, and we love all of our birds and the various wildlife we enjoy here on our four acres in Earlysville, Virginia. But, when it comes right down to it, we are dog people. We've always enjoyed the company of Dalmatians, and the two who live with us now are Brunello, the pure bread Dal on the right, and Vino Nobile, a rescue mix.
Vino has been having issues with an ear hematoma, and it finally got to the point that we had to take him in for surgery. We've been back and forth with it, hoping that it would ultimately correct itself.
All of our animals have been patients of the Earlysville Animal Hospital. Dr. John Gruss has been very patient with us during this ear event, and his wife, Kathy, is the veterinary doctor who finally corrected the problem with surgery. The dog did not have a great night, and this morning Vino and I were waiting at the hospital at 7:30 when they opened. The vet tech was patient and thorough, very helpful. When Kathy arrived, I literally talked with her in the parking lot as she arrived. I don't imagine I could expect such superior, patient, friendly service from every veterinary hospital, but the Gruss's, the other vets in the practice, and each tech and member of the administrative staff are always willing to take the time to help us, and truly we appreciate them and the fact that they settled their home here in Earlysville.
